Skin Lightening
Skin lightening and brightening in Indiranagar for tan, dullness and uneven tone. Dr. Sanjana uses mild peels, laser toning and dermatologist-prescribed creams that clear excess pigment while keeping the skin healthy, never bleaching or harsh chemicals.

What skin lightening can and cannot do
Everyone's skin has a natural base tone set by their genes. Sun, pollution, acne and hormones add extra pigment on top of that, which shows up as tan, dullness and patchy areas. Treatment removes that extra layer of pigment. It brings back your own clear tone rather than making you a different colour, and any product that promises to do that is usually unsafe.
Skin brightening treatments at Theory of Skin
- Mild chemical peels: glycolic, lactic and mandelic peels lift tan and dull surface skin over a series. See chemical peel.
- Laser toning: low-energy laser sessions that break up excess pigment and even out tone.
- Medifacials and Hydrafacials: for an instant fresher look before an event. See Hydrafacial.
- Prescription creams: pigment-reducing creams chosen for your skin, in place of over-the-counter fairness creams.
- Sun protection: the step that decides whether results last.
Why fairness creams and home bleaching cause harm
Many over-the-counter lightening creams sold in India contain strong steroids or mercury. They lighten quickly at first, then cause thin skin, acne, redness and pigmentation that is harder to treat than the original problem. Lemon, bleach and baking soda irritate the skin and often leave it darker. A dermatologist-led plan is slower but safe, and the results stay.
How a brightening plan works
- Consultation: Dr. Sanjana checks your skin type, what is causing the dullness or tan, and the products you already use.
- A routine first: sunscreen, a gentle cleanser and a prescribed cream for the first few weeks.
- Sessions: peels or laser toning every two to four weeks, usually four to six sessions.
- Maintenance: an occasional session and daily sunscreen keep the result.
